Bull Terrier - dog factsHey folks, it’s Mila.
Well, which body part did we not cover so far in our dog facts? Riiiight, the NOSE!
Brace yourself, here come the facts!
A dog’s nose print is just as unique as a human finger print.
It can actually be used to identify us.

So, how do WE identify other dogs?
I see you already guessed it, by sniffing – predominantly butts. This sniffing tells us a lot about the other dog, for example if the other one is a boy or a girl, if he/she is friendly and if we have met before.

Smell is our number one source of information. Now you know, why it takes me so long every morning to read the sniff mail along the way, when I am supposed to to my business.
Also the fact that our noses are wet serves the purpose of perceiving scents, and even the direction they are coming from.
We lick our noses to restore moisture on it in order to keep the smell detection performance at 100%.
You sure know the saying: “A dog with a wet nose is a healthy dog.” Well, for sure it’s a dog with a working sense of smell.

Ok, enough for today!
Cya next time with more interesting dog facts!
Yours
Mila
